On June 6 we visited a mountaintop Monastery near our house, and the beach at
Isola Verde south of the Venice Lagoon. Unfortunately, we don't have any
pictures. The beaches were great with ample services like umbrellas, deck
chairs, and pedal boats, and refreshments at reasonable prices.
The next day we visited Sirmione on Lake Garda and the Roman Arena at Verona.
Here is a freshwater beach in Sirmione, where the bathers have dammed up a
hot-spring overflow pipe exiting a nearby resort for a low-budget spa
experience. |
